The M/V LAWSON will be the newest vessel in the Mobile District fleet when she is delivered in the summer of 2007.  She was built to tow and provide crew quarters for the floating crane CHOCTAWHATCHEE.  The M/V LAWSON will also provide other general fleeting, emergency response and public relations duties for the Mobile District.

The M/V LAWSON was designed is currently being constructed by Quality Shipyards, Houma, LA.  She is a unique design and the first triple crew towboat in the Mobile District Fleet.

Basic Characteristics

Length (overall):  95'

Beam (overall):  39'

Draft (standard):  5'-10"

Depth (molded):  8'-4"

Displacement (standard):  334 tons

Propulsion: three turbocharged and aftercooled CAT C18's, 680HP @ 2,100 RPM each
